Companies that create television shows need to be able to distribute television programming after its been shown and before the season DVD is made avaliable. Many times I'll hear from my friends about a great show or episode, after its already been shown. Most of the time I'm not interested enough in the series to buy the whole DVD, or more likely I've forgotten that I even wanted to see the episode. I would however lay some money down to watch the episode a week later. Tivo type systems don't solve this problem because I'm making the decision to watch after the airing of the episode.

lots of web pages have RSS feeds pre-designed for you. all you need to do set them up to work with your site. i want to be able to navigate around the web, find an RSS feed, and rick click on it to add it to a web page. there are desktop apps that do this, but i want to download a simple browser plugin and have it post to the same web page from no matter where i am. i create enough useless dashboards for people at work...it's time i built one for myself.

In talknut, when you click on your name (the bold blue link before the message) you are taken to a list of all your posts. It would be cool if at the top of your list is a picture that you pick out from 'MY' photo archive (photonut).

I want Outlook to send me a txt message 15 minutes before a meeting, but only if I'm not sitting at my desk (like when the screensaver comes on or something). I frequently get pulled away from my desk and miss meeting reminders and I have no short term memory. If I'm sitting at the desk, no text message should be sent. I don't want a Blackberry or Treo - I don't want to be that connected to work or have to carry a clunky device.

One benefit of road construction projects is to improve the efficiency of the road system. Yet with all the local construction projects combined, the overall system's efficiency is lower than if we just left it alone. I propose temporary bridges should be erected above the constuction site so that traffic can continue without interuption. If the bridge structure was simple enough, it could be assembeled in a short period of time (2 days) and could reduce the amount of time the driver is affected by the construction. Gains would be seen in the productivity of the driver. Truckers alone would be able to get to their destinations quicker and more consistantly on time.

In order to add links to any of the nut inputs you have to know html and embed your link in href tags. It would be nice if talknut was smart enough to automatically add the href tags for you.

Really splaysh photos should go into talknut too. When you click on the main photos link it will take you to all the talknut entries for 'photoNut' and show all the thumbs. Clicking on the thumbs would display the album.

I would like to see only TalkNut on the main page and have all recent entries made to any of the nuts shown there, instead of showing the ten most recent TalkNut and AnalNut entries separately. All of the nuts should have their own page so you can view all and view further details, such as comments made to ProjectNut.

bookNut - a place for books that i've read, or recommendations. It should use amazon webservices to pull picture, and link to buy the book.

On news.splaysh.com I would like to be able to search all the stories whose rss headlines show up on the page at a particular point in time. If for example, I want to search todays news for "Paris Hilton" I would type in her name, and it would visit each stories page, search the page and return any relevant stories. The search would also search the stories kept in newsNut.

I want a toilet that plays music when it flushes. I would like to download 50 cent "In da club" to my toilet and let it play while my shit goes down the toilet. Somehow it needs to be timed so that when its done flushing, its stops playing. Thanks initac for the idea.

Give me a cell phone that allows me to connect to a local ethernet wireless network without having to go through the cell phone company. I will still go through the cell phone company for phone calls, but do all my internet surfing on my own network.

If I were to live in a city where wireless internet spanned acrossed the city, I would want my car radio to listen into my shoutcast broadcast of my mp3 playlist at home, as well as all of my friends playlists. It could play the local mp3s on the cars hard drive as well as any music CD or CD with mp3s on it. In addition, it would have a FM tuner to listen to normal broadcast. Ideally, if when I'm listening to a shoutcast broadcast, and the signal weakens, it could automatically search on the local hard drive for that song and start playing where the shoutcast version left off. I want to be able to pull up to my house, and without getting out, pull mp3s off my house's computer network and put them on the cars local hardrive. Say you are looking for a new song, while you are sitting in traffic, you search the public repositories of the cars next to you in neihboring lanes. This would be done automatically so you woudln't have to fiddle with an interface at every intersection. I want to control the system with my cell phone too.

Make a GE frat house. Rent a house to IMLPs moving through the program. 6 month global rotations cause them to move frequently. I buy a 4 unit house, live in one, rent the other three to IMLPs.

toolBots - While in the same chat window that im using to talk to my online friend, I should be able to talk to all my instant messanger bots. I want a chat session with my one friend, and all my bots.

Instant messager interface to my linux box. I dont want to have to install shell programs on other peoples computers just so I can access my home computer. Why not do it over instant messanger? Its just text.

Instant Messaging Pipes. This would be especially useful in working with instant messenger bots. Suppose you talk to bot whose output is determined by the output of other instant messaging bots.

I dont live in an area where laundry machine avaliability is in short supply, but if I did, or there was an extremely popular laundry center, I would want a website to check the avaliability of machines before I go to the center. Ideally, you would be able to check on the status of your laundry, and maybe even recieve an email, page, SMS text message, etc... when it was finished. If the laundry was finished at an inconvenient time, you could put in a request for a staff memeber to load your wet clothes into the dryer, or even fold your dry clothes for you.

I want an aggregator for real time gas prices in my area. Right next to it will be trend charts for the actual cost of a barrel of oil, and the futures cost of a barrel. It the app was smart enough, it could suggest a good time to fill up and at what price.

I think craigslist needs to provide webservices... I wouldn't mind putting some craigslist entries for my city on my website. There could be some really neat interfaces that have yet to be invented that could bring craigslist to all different sorts of access channels.
